UK Biogas Operators Course in June 2012

27 June - 28 June 2012

New 2-day UK Biogas Operators Training Course - two full days on 27-28 June. The course is especially relevant  for biogas plant operators with the main focus on optimising digester biology and operating parameters. The course is also suitable for those wishing to acquire a deeper knowledge of the biological process in AD. Detailed program and registration

In partnership with REA Biogas it will be delivered by three German engineers from IBBK with many years of practical experience dealing with all sorts of AD plant with a wide range of feedstocks.  The engineers delivering the course content are specialists in understanding and optimising the complex biology, feedstock selection and operating parameters of AD plants - their teaching was the highlight of our week-long course, held in January this year (see reviews).

Topics Wednesday, 27 June 2012

  1. Overview of the Biogas industry in Europe and UK and its future development
  2. Substrate-Input, gas yield according to the substrates composition
  3. Introduction into environmental & engineering parameters
  4. Start up phase & practical measures for monitoring the digestion process, Heating-up and Feeding-start, Testing parameters during operation, Practical devices for plant monitoring (FOS/TAC, pH, gas analysis)
  5. Record keeping, Data collection and daily maintenance, Safety considerations
  6. Case studies – Practical operation of wet & dry fermentation plants with different
